In a world that rarely slows down, it's easy to feel like you're always one step behind. Stress can creep in quietly or come crashing in loudly, but either way, it doesn’t have to rule your life. Here are four small but powerful ways to start calming your nervous system today:

1. Breathe with Intention Take just two minutes. Inhale deeply through your nose for four counts. Exhale slowly through your mouth for six counts. Repeat. This simple breathwork helps signal safety to your body and reduces cortisol levels.

2. Ground Yourself Place your feet flat on the floor. Notice what they’re touching. Press down gently. Feel your body in your chair. Even 30 seconds of grounding brings your awareness out of your thoughts and back into your body.

3. Cut the Noise Turn off notifications, step away from social media, or even just silence your phone for 10 minutes. Give yourself permission to disconnect. Quiet is a powerful medicine.

4. Name What You Need Ask yourself, “What do I need in this moment?” Maybe it’s a glass of water. A deep breath. A hug. Or just permission to rest. When you pause to listen to your needs, your nervous system thanks you.

Stress doesn’t have to run the show. With gentle awareness and simple practices, you can return to yourself—one breath, one pause, one moment at a time.
